Mac Middleton = Leadership |
Since arriving in Annapolis, Mac has been a leader for
Charles County and the State. Mac believes in working cooperatively, building
consensus and moving forward. He has worked with his Senate colleagues, the
Delegates representing Charles County, local elected leaders, and the entire
community. He has earned respect as a leader in the State House and around the
State, rising in the Senate leadership. Here’s what some are saying about Mac…
Middleton Honored by ARC -- Senator Thomas Mac Middleton was
among the four legislators to receive the 2008 Legislative
Leadership Award from the ARC of Maryland during its annual awards
ceremony in May. Middleton was recognized for his work during this
year's Session for sponsoring SB 305 - the Community Services Rate
Reimbursement Commission to ensure the existence of an independent
body to make recommendations on the Community Programs COLA and
rates allowing services to keep pace with inflation and trends in
best practices. ARC's awards program honors the people who are

"The leading candidate for promotion is Sen. Thomas M. Middleton, an amiable

of Sunday’s tornadoes has been extraordinary. The storms that swept through
Charles, Calvert and Dorchester Counties has had an enormous impact on citizens,
businesses and neighborhoods, but more importantly, a strong spirit of
cooperation has emerged from the devastation…Your continued advocacy, support
and leadership are critical to ensuring that we get these impacted neighborhoods
and families on the road to normalcy as quickly as possible.”
Governor Parris N. Glendening, May 1, 2002

“You have made a difference in the lives of thousands of
community college students in Maryland!" Charlene R. Nunley, Ph.D. President, Montgomery College
“I have served in public office with Mac for 16 years and
know him to be one of the most decent, honest elected officials in Maryland. I
am proud to call Mac my friend. Having served in county and state office, Mac
has the rare ability to understand county government’s concerns while putting
them in a statewide perspective. As a past president of the Maryland
Association of Counties, I regard Mac as a true friend of local government.
Every Senator in Annapolis I know holds Mac in the highest regard. If we are to
be judged by our peers, Mac gets an A-plus. As a State Senator, Mac quickly
rose to a position of leadership as chairman of the Senate Capital Budget Sub
Committee. But while Mac rises even higher in the leadership jobs in the State
Senate, he will never forget his roots in Charles County." Murray Levy Charles County Commissioners President

850,000 students.” Nancy S. Grasmick State Superintendent of Schools
“…Thank you for your hard work and dedication during this

appears well prepared to weather the current economic storm.”

“Mac Middleton has demonstrated fiscal conservatism and
fairness. We trust him to make the best decisions for our State and our
counties.” Senate President Thomas V. Mike
Miller, when announcing Mac’s selection as chairman of the Senate Capital Budget
